Question by Julia K: What would be a good side job for a model?
I am a model, which means my schedule may change at any time.
but I am looking for a side job, where if needed, i may leave for 20 minutes or so to go on a casting and such.

And for those of you who are planning to tell me striptease or pornography please spare your fingers.
oh and I live in NY, so if I could find something in Manhattan, it would be grand

why not go promote a club you no like hand out flyers to everybody tell them to come down maybe have a drink and work a deal with the owner that lets you get paid for every flyer handed in with your name (fake ofcoarse) you know then you could get guys to come down thinking they have a shot with you if you need i could hook you up with some #s to call please keep in mind i live on long island but manhattan is 40 mins away get in touch if your interested

Maybe temping would be a good start. Also, being a server at several restraunts would be good. IF you had to blow one restraunt off and you lost that job you would have a back up. (I am not condoning this but it is the survival of the fitest in this dog eat dog world.

I started working on a home based business. You put in as much time as you want to. It is free and you don’t have to sell anything but you need to work.

    It is worth cheking.

I can show how to setup something in your spare time to generate full time income…even works behind your back while you model.

Try a work at home gig where you make your own hours and can get up and go at the drop of a hat.

I wouldn’t bother with the restaraunt thing, since future employers might not want to hire someone who “disappears” or quits all the time.
You really need a flexible, very part-time job with an understanding company.
You could try temping and specify very flexible or short-hour jobs. Here are some companies in Manhattan:
    Adecco –
    61 Broadway # 1712, New York, NY – (212) 509-3300

    Tact Medical Temps Inc –
    130 William St # 800, New York, NY – (212) 766-0200

    Kelly Services –
    61 Broadway # 2225, New York, NY – (212) 785-5803

You could also try some other things, such as greeting card delivery/setup. It pays mininum wage, but the hours are super-flexible. Or you can try some kind of delivery service. Or personal shopper. Or errand-runner.
Since you’re a model, have you tried working part-time for retailers in catalogs/website/marketing?

    Best of luck.
