Pay can vary, depending on which part of the country you live in, the size of your town and the size of your employer. But generally speaking, most entry level coders (who have 1-2 years of coding experience) start out around $ 13-16 an hour, once you gain more experience, the pay goes up to around $ 17-20 an hour and increases with more experience and credentials, to around $ 21-30.

  1. Zach! says:

The median salary for billers and coders is between $ 30,000 for an entry-level medical biller and $ 42,000 for certified and experienced medical billers. This varies based on experience, certifications and available job opportunities in your area. I’ve noticed that in Florida, the pay for medical billing and coding professionals follows the national average. In Miami, it starts at around $ 13-14 per hour at the entry level and goes up to $ 17-20 or more per hour.
