Question by SummerRuSH: What do I need to do to become a neurosurgeon?
I’m currently in high school. I’m planning on attending Belmont University, Boston College, or Vanderbilt University for pre-medicine. Anyways, Belmont University is probably my safest bet, can I get into Harvard or Yale Medical School if I attend Belmont University, or do they not care what university you attend? What’s a good MCAT score? Also, what else do I need to do in order to become a neurosurgeon after medical school? I know lots of questions but I want to know that i’m choosing the right career.

4 years of college, 4 years of medical school, 5 years of general surgical residency, and 5 years of neurosurgical fellowship. 18 years of college and training before you can get a job on your own. While you can apply to any med school after college, the better the school you attend, the better a med school you have a shot at.
