Question by vanilla_thunderrr: What are the best neighborhoods in Raleigh, North Carolina?
My wife and I are considering moving to Raleigh, NC. She is being offered a great job. We are young (under 30) with a 2 year-old son. Property value, schools, taxes, and crime are the most important factors we are considering.
We were told by her employer to look toward the southwest area (Cary or Carey – I can’t recall the spelling?) area, but I am exploring all regions.

Cary is definitely your best option, but some areas of the town are very pricey.
Here’s what I would recommend…..
A) Wake Forest-New area, young professionals, very nice homes, close to everything, great schools.
B) Six Forks/Crabtree areas-Home prices are on the rise, so much to do there, younger people.
C) Morrison- Boring but quiet, nice neighborhoods.
Stay away from…..
A)Pretty much all of Durham (Some very, very nice areas but some very, very, very, very, bad areas)
B)Anywhere with a commute of more than 20 miles. Some of the freeways are very confusing and congested.
Call Linda Craft with Remax for specific area recommendations. She knows everything about the area (#1 realtor and #1 team) 877-519-9996. I bought a home from her near NC State.
