plus, I work with men who have developmental disabilities and one of them likes to throw tantrums and swing at you. Most women I work with get hit and don’t do? anything but complain to the supervisor later. The man was 6 years older than me and I was able to restrain him the first time he swung at me. It makes sense for males to be CNAs becuase most of us can deal with those type of situations better than women. Not being sexist but frtom my end and my work place that’s how it is.

Males are in more? need because they can lift heavy stuff. Women can too, but it’s much easier for a man.

Days?? In NYS the cna class? is 6 weeks and our clinicals is a week long. I dont think I could have processed everything in such a short time. But as another commenter mentioned, in the beginning we are mainly working through agencies and the pay is disgusting. I hope I can continue at this pace…

I took a five day course too, and I was concerned because most classes take? months, but it was worth it and I passed. Great experience.

  10. Jack Ripper says:

Becoming a CNA sucks , the school will have a work program for you but you will only? get 3-10 hours a week because of insurance limits on the patient , there is no money working for an agency !!! Maybe a hospital you will get 40 hours but you are still? an ASS WIPER !!!! not a CNA !
