You will have to get a work permit to work at age 14 in Las Vegas. One of the conditions of getting a work permit is “promise of a job.” So basically, you have to know where you are going to work and submit this information when you apply for the work permit. Problem is, the jobless rate in Las Vegas is at 14%. In the employer’s eyes, you are very young and have no prior work experience. And you are only looking for a summer job, and employers prefer people who are going to maintain the job for awhile. Whatever job you apply for, there are going to be better qualified people also applying. You are basically at the bottom of the totem pole in the job market.

Nope the legal age to work is 16. Most employers don’t even like hiring kids under age 18 due to child labor laws, and you think they would hire some 14-year old kid, with no experience who is not even of legal age to work and cannot even get a work permit at age 14? Plus even if you could get a work permit you could only work 3 hours a day, and you cannot drive at all until age 16, do you really expect anyone to hire you that young?
