Question by ms_flawless00: What part of Houston, Texas is safe to live for a young lady?
I’m 22 years old and I was considering moving to Houston, Texas for my job. I really want to know which neighborhoods in Texas are safe. I really wanted to be within the town of Houston, but everyone says that its dangerous. I’m looking for an apartment, i don’t want to buy just yet. Can someone give me information on some neighborhoods/apartments that are safe to live?

town of Houston?

I recommend Kingwood, Woodlands, Atascocita, and Sugarland.

They are all good neighborhoods and very safe.

Where you lives depends on where your job is located. Also… you may want to read up on the City of Houston.

It’s not dangerous unless you are broke and are having to live in a place that you can afford. But there are many nice neighborhoods IN the city like bellaire, montrose or river oaks (Montrose is definitely a neighborhood for young people-many clubs, casual street life, tons of clothing stores, it’s great if you’re into that stuff). But unlike the more bigger U.S. cities like Chicago and New York, most Houstonians (from college students to families to strict business people) like living outside of the city and commuting everyday into it. What I would suggest is to get a good car, that gets great gas mileage, and live in the Cypress area (which is northwest), or Kingwood, or Katy, or even the Woodlands. I DO NOT suggest Pasadena, if you don’t trust me, go there for yourself, and you’ll see what im talking about.

    Well I hope this helped:)
