Question by lampchop: What is the difference between biology-medical technology and clinical labertory science?
I want to major in Biology- medical tech because University of Houston is close to where i live. The Universtiy of Housotn do not have graduate programs that deal with medicine or forensic stuff. I dont want to study out of state but i dont know which colleges would be the best for dealing with pre-med or forensic stuff. I want to use the major for something else more advance but i dont know which one has more opportunities. For example, types of jobs and money. Some many questions!!!

Medical Technology and Clinical Lab Science are the same thing. The reason for the difference is because of the certification tests that are taken after you get your degree/complete training. One is run by doctors and passing that gives you the title Medical Technologist. The other is run by Med Techs (or clinical lab scientists) and the title for passing that test is Clinical Lab Scientist. The tests are pretty much the same, both titles mean the same thing, they’re just run by different organizations.
While most people with this major start working in hospitals and such after getting their bachelors, it’s also a good major for those trying to get into med school.
