Pros… you get out of the rat race they call LA. Problem with the rat race is when you are done with the race you are still a RAT!

Cons… it is nothing like LA! So small compared to LA… hope you like COWS!

I was going to say you have to get used to horrible air quality, heat, and traffic, but since you’re coming from LA it might actually be a GOOD move.

You’ll enjoy the fact that it’s smaller than LA (but it’s not small by any means – 1.5 million people in the metro area) but it has pretty much anything you can find in LA. It’s close to SF and the bay area, close to Lake Tahoe and the Sierras. It’s the state capitol which is kind of cool if you like politics. However just like LA it has bad neighborhoods that you should avoid moving to if you do. It’s got a pretty good nightlife. You can escape the city pretty quickly if you want, which isn’t the case in the LA basin.

Ever visited? I say take a drive up or flight up (Sac Int’l airport) and hang out for a day or two.

You are still in a big city
    lots of jobs
lots of fun places to go
    good restaraunts

    it is smaller than LA
    Expenisive housing
    no yard
    crime rate!

If it is a good job offer for something you like to do, take the job!Good Luck!

The pros are you will be able to buy a house that (unless you have a REALLY good job) in LA you could only dream of…..nice NEW 3 and 4 bedroom homes with decent little yards, big tubs in the bathroom, all that start at just under 200k…You can get a old fixer or a condo for even less…Jobs ABOUND…great spot to travel from with SF and Tahoe so close….and sac does have a lot of stuff to do to for fun

    The #1 con
    The heat in summer
    so hot
    well over 100 sometimes
