Question by Emi: How much is reasonable pay to contractors for fixing deck leakage problem in Seattle?
I am hiring a contractor to fix my deck and leakage problem. He is bringing another guy and it will be around 6 hrs job for 2 guys to fix it. Materal cost is around $ 100. He is asking $ 1000 for all, which will end up with $ 150/hr for those 2 contractors. Would that be reasonable charge? Or is he asking too much? My house is in Seaatle/Bellevue area. Thanks.

Small jobs are typically more expensive per hour than larger jobs.

It does sound like a steep price, but I cannot see what exactly they are doing or will have to do. Did you get any other estimates, before hiring them? You should of! Always get two or three estimates and ask questions. Don’t be shy. See if they are all saying the same thing (materials, measurements, etc.).
