Question by John: moving to Chicago without a job?
I want to move to the city of Chicago in early December. I won’t have a job lined up beforehand, and I’ll have only $ 6,000 cash to my name. I plan on renting a shared apartment. I don’t have a car. I’m just wondering, do you think I’ll be able to find a job before I run out of money? Are people still hiring in December?

I think it depends on your background & your resume/interviewing skills. There are jobs available. It’s a huge city! Also, there are plenty of temp agencies that can get you daily work while you’re looking for something full time. (A lot of my friends have even started at a temp agency and things went so well that they were hired on at the company they temped for full-time.)

Your best bet is to make sure that your resume is well-written. Check out this site: www.MrsJsResumes.com

Your best bet for a job that time of year, would be in the financial area: brokerage firms, accountants, tax attorneys.

    Good luck
