i am applying for a job in a daycare in NY, and they are asking for the medical exam; but they want me to pay for it and i think that is the employer responsability to pay for those fees prior to employment. can someone tell me if i am right or wrong? thanks

it is legal from anyone to ask anything of anyone…it is called freedom of speech…not sure why you think they can’t ask that…

  1. Something Else says:

No you pay and you also pay for your background check, credit check and fingerprinting.
NO law says the employer must pay.
They never have and never will.

  2. michr says:

if the day-care is covered by state or federal labor laws it is NOT legal BUT most small day-cares are NOT covered by any labor laws….
