Question by : I was considering taking the medical assistant course at Kaplan in Sacramento, Ca?
Does this school actually lead to a job or is this school looked down upon? Advice please from former students or employers

Please AVOID those private overly priced For-profit schools such as kaplan, U of P, strayer, everest, devry, argosy, capella, westwood, sanford brown, ashworth, keiser, pima medical institute, colorado tech, ashford, penn foster, ITT tech, brown mackie, lincoln tech and others as they are merely out to “make a profit” (** and their course credits usually do NOT transfer to other schools).
There are a lot of negative posts by former students of those for-profit schools, including kaplan, at these consumer sites, and please heed the students’ warnings:

Please ALSO be aware that there are NOT supposed to be too many jobs for MAs (or medical billers or coders) despite what those for-profit schools say.
If you’re still interested in training, please consider the more affordable community college or even the county vo-tech school as long as the program is accredited within the industry.
