Question by JewJew: I want to move from Miami,Fl to Atlanta, Ga. How do I go about finding employment?
Will I have less of a chance of getting hired being that I’m out of state?
Will it be difficult to obtain employment. I’m a licensed Nursing Assistant in Fl. Also, is the cost of living expensive, if you want to live in a realitively safe area?

Right now it is hard getting a job anywhere unless you have a skill in demand or will work for minimum wages at a fast food place.

the job market is not doing so well here but you can check out ajc.com also check out the temp agencies related to your field

  2. Meredith says:

You’ll undoubtedly have an easier time finding employment once you’re actually here. While most fields are hurting, the medical field always seems to be on the lookout for qualified personnel. You might want to look on the websites of various hospitals (i.e. Piedmont, Northside, St. Joseph’s) as well as places like Kaiser Permanente and Wellstar.

There are a lot of good neighborhoods around Atlanta. Your best bet is to come down, look around, and get a feel for the area. The cost of living is less here than areas like Ft. Lauderdale, but more than maybe Largo….

What you might want to do is apply for jobs and say that you’ll be in town on such-and-such a date. That way you can kill two birds with one stone: scope out neighborhoods and possibly land employment!

    Good luck.
