You are definitely on the right track, but you’ll want to look for some courses to take as a minor or get certified in the field. Keep going on the degree you are in and look into either taking up a minor or certifications.

I’ve linked to one article below that gives more information.

Enjoy!

First, you’d need to get at least a bachelor degree in computer science. Then with work experience and higher learning to obtain your master and doctor degree, you can apply for FBI special agent and other related fields. I got accepted back in 2003 but I love to travel around the world, so I rejected the job offer.

Okay. I was a computer forensics expert for many years for a very large police department in the U.S., and I took many classes at the FBI Academy (and taught a few FBI courses there as well). No one chooses to believe what I’m about to say (and that can be a good thing, actually). Nevertheless, it’s true:

No one can just “hack into anyone’s computer from anywhere and retrieve whatever data they want…” It’s impossible to do, and it’s illegal to do. As far as retrieving data from erased or damaged disks, that IS possible, and it’s a very large part of computer forensic science. And as far as monitoring people’s movements on computer, that can’t be done, either.

It’s actually kind of humorous that most of the country thinks “big brother is watching you,” but he isn’t.
