There are several steps, the written test is only the second. It could still take months. Here is the entire process:

Candidates must submit an application, successfully complete a written examination, a reading exam, physical fitness test, a drug screening test, a psychological evaluation, a medical examination, a background investigation, a thirty-two week training program, and a one year on-the-job probationary period before becoming a police officer in the City of Philadelphia.

if it is anything like the civil service test in MA, you are going to probably end up taking the test again.

there are going to be much higher scores than an 81. I am not trying to say that it’s horrible, but it is not the best score.

I took the civil service test in MA and I got a 96 and did not get a job. You also have to remember people that are vet’s, minorities and the like get more points on these tests than “average” joes.

    Good luck!
