Question by baby: how to start my medical career???
last year I passed my board exam and I am now a board certified medical assistant. I recently had a baby so I have not yet started looking for a medical assistant job. I love working with babies and would love a job in pediatrics in a small office or the hospital. I want to start my job search in like a month or two and I live in sacramento,ca. I would love to know how I can land a job in a medical office. also, I would like to know what kind of careers there are working in the medical field with infants and small children. any advice and info would be great. thank you for your time. have a great day!!!! =]

Virtually every specialty has a pediatric arm to it, so these would be the careers working with children. Pediatric ______.
I have to chuckle at your title – it makes it sound like you want to be a physician, not that you are an MA. I know it’s ticky tacky to some, but keep in mind that you are looking for work as a medical assistant, not starting a medical career. It’s one of those things that makes mid to upper level providers laugh. I doubt you are doing it on purpose to sound more important, but it’s just something to keep in mind. You don’t want to give off the wrong vibe to a potential employer accidentally.
The sooner the better for applying. Background checks, drug tests, and interviews can take quite awhile.
And I’m sure you already know this, but remember that your job will be doing vitals, history, meds, and general complaints, not playing with babies and small kids. Your physician may set a goal for you to be in and out of the room (7 minutes), so while you need empathy and to be friendly, you are working.
I know it sounds like a lot of negative, but I hope you take it as constructive criticism and use it to your advantage. Good Luck!!
