Question by Lady T: How much tax is taken out a youth worker’s paycheck in NJ for a summer job?
I make $ 6.15 per hr and work 5days a week for 6hrs each day they pay bi-weekly. And I need to know how tax do they take for a youth intern for a summer job. I need to buy alot of things but i need to take 10% out for God and split the money in half after and put one half in the bank for savings.

I don’t know exactly, but a good rule of thumb is to subtract 1/3.

  1. beachbaby1014 says:

I don’t know about NJ, but I’m a summer intern and they take out about %10

  2. blahblahblahblahblah says:

they take out the same amount as anyone else about 12%, but since you are underage and won’t make THAT much you will get it ALL back at the end of the year when you file your tax returns

  3. misslabeled says:

You should be given a pay stub or other form indicating the taxes withheld. If they aren’t doing this, inists they start or report them to the IRS. It is not optional.

As for your tithe, the church I grew up in looked at it as 10% of your take-home, not gross pay, because there was no guarantee you’d ever see a refund of taxes. But if you did, then you would tithe that refund.

    Hope that helps.
