Question by Thrice Blessed: How much does a Certified Nursing Assistant make in Washington State?
I worked as a CNA in Washington state 17 – 18 years ago, how much does the job pay now?
Answer by Guinnysmom
I’m not sure about Washington state, but in NC, the pay rate starts around $ 8/hour. Private home-care can be more. If you are certified to dispense meds, it’s around $ 10/hour in a nursing home or hospital. If you are certified for all levels of CNA home-care and can find a good home care gig, i’ve seen jobs at $ 200/day (12 hour shift), but they are few and far between. Here, it is really hard work for slightly above minimum wage. Try adding a few certifications like med-tec, phlebotomy, LPN, and your pay goes up considerably…..
