Question by : How hard is it to find a Career in Aesthetics in Columbus, Ohio?
I am currently a LMT and in school for nursing. I will begin classes in March for Aesthetics. Eventually I would like to work in the medical end of skin care or a spa that offers laser treatments, chemical peels and so on. For now though I would like to know what I am up against as far as job placement in just Aesthetics and how competetive my long term goal is.
Answer by Capitalist and proud of it
I have been in the professional spa products business for over 10 years. During that time, I’ve seen a lot of spas open and close and a lot of estheticians move from spa to spa.
It’s a hard living and not very stable. Get in with a good spa such as Mario’s International in OH. Learn a lot and don’t fall into the temptation to start your own spa – they have a high failure rate.
Oh, and take a business class at the local adult school.
