Question by IRSmart: How does Texas Unemployment work?
I’ve been receiving unemployment from the state of Tx. since June. I live in Pennsylvania. I started school full-time 2 weeks ago, and just did my payment request for the past 2 weeks. I informed them that I’m still willing to look for full-time work, and that I’ll have my CNA license (going to school to be an LPN) in December and I hope to use that to get a job as a CNA which is a lot easier to get than other jobs around here since I live in a college town.

How likely is it that I’ll be disqualified to continue to receive unemployment benefits?
I had no idea what category this would best fit in for the record. It doesn’t appear that it looks like a good fit for law&legal. Sorry about that.

  1. Almond says:

I was in a similar situation, collecting unemployment in Texas, but, living in Washington, DC. I was not disqualified and I was able to collect the full term of my unemployment.
