    I am not sure but my first thought would be to ask each union hall in the city you are interested in. Some of the big ones include: Teamsters, Carpenters, Steelworkers, AutoWorkers, etc. If you have ever been a member of a union before, contact that hall, see if you are still active, if not what would it cost to re-sign with them and then see if they can help you. The local unemployment agencies should be able to help you as they are state funded and do not have an interest in one over the other. If you have a specific trade, try a union that is related to that industry. If you are interested in working in movies – – try the screen actors guild, etc.
