Question by Kathrynn: How difficult is it to find jobs in Engineering these days? Please respond?
My boyfriend wants to complete a BA in Electrical Engineering, as well as an internship with Jacobs in his 3rd or 4th year. Upon graduating, how long can he expect to find a good job in his field? Entry level jobs? His GPA has been awesome so far. We’re talking anywhere in northeast US.

In 2 years time the economy should gradually be picking up so I’d imagine he’d be able to find something to get straight into if he starts searching about 6 months before graduation. The difficulty in your question is converting highly subjective criteria like “good job” and “awesome” into practical parameters.

  1. C7S says:

If his internship is related to his field and he keeps his GPA above a 3.0, he should find a job immediately without any problems.

I have worked with plenty of Electrical Engineers and know many in D.C., Maryland, Philadelphia, Pittsburg, New York, Delaware, and Boston.
