Question by Yesi: Can a Certified Nursing Assistant take the Medical Assistant test and get certified as a MA?
I am wondering if you are a CNA and are able to challenge the test for MA? (withou going to those expensive schools).
I live in CA and would like to find more info on this topic. Does anyone know? Thanks!

No. MA programs are about a year in length and involve more complex skills than CNAs are taught. Besides, if you want to go to a year long program, go for your LPN. MA jobs are dead end, the education doesn’t transfer to anything else later on, and you’ll get paid more when you hold a state issued professional license as opposed to just a MA certification.
